Sweeny was to win his match with Reno, Rude and Tseng, he would be awarded
with a title shot, but since Danny Raven retired the day before, this match
made Dan Sweeny the new champion.

NOTE: Dan Sweeny was awarded this title back after TINY into retirement. At that
time, TINY was undergoing an extensive diet, and there was a stipulation
that if he did not lose enough weight within a certain time, he would give
the belt back up to Dan Sweeny. After TINY suffered a relapse from the
dieting, Dan was awarded back the title.

NOTE: Wolvie was awarded the belt on Monday Night Massacre on Feb. 1, 1999,
after it had been discovered that a small flaw in his contract had been
violated. In his contract, it stated that if anyone interfered in the
match, he would be awarded the belt. During the match in question, Jason
Wylde interfered and inadvertantely hit Bowen Danes with a chair.
Reluctantly, Mr. Reaves forced "The Lone Star" Bowen Danes to give the title
to Wolvie.

of bringing back the Championship only to have it merged with the ETV Title,
but those ideas were scrapped to keep championships with ICW influence from
coming back on N.E.W. shows. Somewhere around April of the year 2000, Wolvie began carrying around the title and put it on the line against Jade Diamond in a "Tower of Pain" match. Jade won the bout and the title and started carrying around the United States championship belt, but it is to this day an unrecognized title change.
